I recently attended a relative’s engagement ceremony. This family works / lives in the staff housing at Gandhi Smriti ..a sprawling bungalow in the city’s central district ..this used to be erstwhile Birla House where Mahatma Gandhi lived during the last days of his life & where he was assassinated while on his way for morning prayers.
Steps cast in concrete trace his last walk down the path. The whole place is very peaceful & serene with lots of fully grown Jamun & Neem trees. Recently a multimedia exhibit has also been installed there by the Aditya Birla Group.
