The Day After - VDHM 2007

This was my third half marathon race. I ran a slow race with a couple of walking breaks..still managed to complete the course in 2:10:44. I have a feeling that the late start did impact my run..would like to know how it was for others.

The course was much better than last year..quite a bit of it was on the shaded wide central Delhi roads. The response was awesome with lots of foreign participants, corporate teams from the NDA, Jindal, Genpact, Times .The race was flagged off by Rahul Dravid.....caught a brief glimpse of him at the start line.

The Post race management left a lot of bad vibes..runners complained about the lack of enough outlets to distribute certificates and then the printers conked off. Still managed to receive my temporary certificate & medal after almost 2 hrs in the queue. On my way back saw the rush at the only refreshment counter but was in no mood to stand in queue again.

Would like to travel to Hyderabad (Nov 25th ) for the next Half Marathon.....lets see how the training goes from here.

Great show, Param! These people are introducing chip timing in Hyderabad for the first time, and this would be the only place in India besides Mumbai and Delhi with chip timings. Hyderabad weather is good and should be a nice run... go for it!

Still no news on the Delhi Marathon which was scheduled for 9th Dec ( as per their last email )..God knows when it will be scheduled.

Good, though there were lesser participants compared to the deluge in Delhi and Mumbai, but they organized it well. The weather was good. They are also implementing chip timing from this year, which shows the progress.

Congratulations for doing your 3rd half marathon. Keep on running... you'll get faster and more efficient in time.

I'm from the Philippines and am into running and trekking, too. Saw the link to your blog at CRN.
